It Ain't Easy Being Green
Although there were a few hits this month, overall I don't think that navy or green are my best colors. I liked the day that I mismatched polka dots, the day that I resurrected shoulder pads and accordion skirts, and the day that I ventured in to yellow tights territory. The definite highlight of the month was doing a photoshoot with my daughters and the shopping trip that followed. I have April's pastels all laid out--mostly yellows and oranges and can hardly wait to get started with a new palette.

Terri, I really liked the green shirt on you!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite outfit on you and favorite of all times is the black and white dress with the yellow belt and tights. I also enjoy reading about your lovely and beautiful daughters.
Mine do not want to appear much on my blog!!
My youngest has a blog of her own but she is too busy to updated it often.
Can wait to see your April's colors and outfits!!!
Oh, how fun to have them all laid out at the end! I agree with you re: the polka dots. (and yellow tights too, but especially polka dots.)
ReplyDeleteGreen is one of my favourite colours... but even I find it pretty difficult to wear. Yellow, surprisingly, is much easier. Looking forward to the next month of the challenge!
ReplyDeleteI liked the mixing of polka dots and of course yellow leg day! Looking forward to next month's colours!
ReplyDeleteI love this montage! My favorite outfit has to be the gingham dress with the yellow tights -- gorgeous and fun!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all of them at once- I think it was a very successful month! you're such a stylish lady, and clearly you passed it on to your daughters. Fun recap!
ReplyDeleteI think warmer colors are more fun to wear. I LOVE to look at green but it's a hard color to take in large dose. You do wonders with the polka dots, however. I can hardly wait to see your Easter pastels!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see all laid out in a collage! All outfits were classy.I like the fourth before the end.
ReplyDeleteI think you look GREAT in green!

I thought it was a seasonally appropriate wardrobe. March is a transitional month, with little sprigs of color against duller winter leftovers.
ReplyDeleteYou lightened up and that seems about right. I'm guessing you caught your daughters on a brief warm-up when they shucked it all in hopes it would convince warmer temperatures to stick around!
You can't really go full fledged light/bright when you still need your heavy jacket.
I love that photoshoot with your daughters and I love the BRIGHT green top with the khaki skirt. Those are my highlights from your blog this month. ^_^
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see you in orange- I feel it would look good on you.
Meg--there are many more pics of my daughters to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteRoseAG--you're right. One day it is almost warm and the next day it is chill. My raincoat has had a lot of use this month.
Leia--thank you.
Angie--that makes two votes for that simple look.
Rosebud--I knew I could count on you to approve the polka dots. I think you are my inspiration for those.
Meri--thank you. My daughters had lots of fun with this.
Kristin--Yes, the gingham dress was a delightful surprise and a departure from my usual.
Allison--the pale color of these tights was new to me, but I love them.
Emily--some people think yellow is difficult especially close to the face.
Autumn--that makes two votes for the polka dots.
Ofelia--I think your daughters are a bit younger than mine, but good for you for respecting their wishes.
i adore the braided hair look on you! and you look great in green :)

Steffys Pros and Cons
I think green is a difficult color on people. And on houses. But you look nice in all colors!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely recap of the month outfits.Great idea!!.
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic weekend my dear Terri.

My favorite is the dress with the yellow tights and belts. I love the splash of colour.
ReplyDeletei liked a lot of these - esp. top row #4, row 3 #5, and 'the yellow tights'.
ReplyDeletebut the highlight was your features on your beautiful daughters and your photoshoot! it was nice to get to hear about the shoot, then get a little portrait of each of your girls.
and i could feel for K. - when i was 15 i spent a year being deathly ill with asthma and the meds just completely distorted my body, luckily it got back to normal within a few months...then at 20ish i got in a car accident - the plastic surgeon stopped counting at 150 stitches on my face (and you know all the aftercare that goes into something like that). that type of crud is bad enough at any time, but when you're a beautiful young woman....i just didn't want my life to be about 'well, i was gorgeous, then my life went to hell....' (boring)
so i decided that it wouldn't. looks like K. made the same choice! (& not so fun for mom to have to watch....) and it's so fun to see how you look like each other and how you differ, and how happy you look together, having so much fun. yay! have a great weekend, steph
I do love your color themed months! And I still think that polka dot blouse is the cat's pjs!
ReplyDeleteI love this compilation of green! I have to disagree though - I think green looks very nice on you. I especially like the green color on the bottom row...third from the left. I used to call it jungle green, but I don't know the proper term now. That color looks great on you! :)
ReplyDeleteBetter Than a Milk Mustache
Angela--thanks for liking me in green. I hope tomorrow to get up a pic of the obi belt I made following your design.
ReplyDeleteRay--thank you, though this next month is going to be a serious challenge!
Stef--Whoa, I had not known about your car accident. None of the repair shows on your face...and the new haircut really opens up your face.
Fuyume--Welcome to Rags! That outfit was a big departure for me, so thanks.
Sacramento--I will have a great weekend, for once I'm not swamped by work.
Susan--you are too kind.
Steffys--I adore the braid too, but that would be my daughter, K. Welcome to Rags.
I really like the layout, all those small pictures gathered into one larger one, and thought what a brilliant wall calendar it would make. You already have 3 months ready. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteHi Terri! well, seeing i was a young woman they waited 6 hours to do anything until the plastic surgeon could get there. good call. my * new camera * (!) registers a lot more detail, so i'll be able to show y'all my scar. in person it's not bad, but it's easy to see.
ReplyDeletehave a fun weekend, ms. footloose and fancy free ;) steph
Mette--we are thinking alike. Each month my mother asks for a print out of the picture. I told her this week that I thought I might make it into a calendar.
ReplyDeleteStef--are you self-conscious about the scar?
I think this month included your best looks ever! Very successful...
ReplyDeletePam--thank you!
