Virtual Pajama Party--Come Join the Fun!

The big day has finally arrived! I know that some of us can't attend. At least one told me she was getting her wisdom teeth pulled. Another is off to Paris and Provence. And at least one is getting married!

Most nights I don't wear "much" to bed. But I have taken to wearing white chemise in recent years as a way to cope with the changes of body temperature that are characteristic of menopause. In honor of this special event, I've decided to wear my film noir dacron slip (it has a tag that reads "Black Magic"), with a funky satin/silk kimono. The kimono is reversible and the dragon on the back side reminds me of something a fighter might wear in the ring.

I probably ought to warn all of you that I'm not very pleasant for the first hour after waking in the morning. It takes at least two cups of coffee before I feel human enough to cook! And these photos are an honest early morning look.

Now, does anyone remember how to play "Stiff as a Board, Light as a Feather"?  It's that levitating game?
  • Here's how to "attend": Just compose a post that includes any night wear, midnight snack or delicious brunch dish.
  • Include a link to RagsagainsttheMachine.com somewhere in your post.
  • Go to the bottom of this post and click on this cute little link:
And Lorena just missed the deadline. Find her look here.

  4. Gorgeous kimono, Terri. I'll need copious amounts of tea in the morning, if that's OK. And I am NOT at my best then either!
My real night attire isn't fit to be seen by the general populace, never mind all you super-stylish blogging ladies, so I've had to go with a crazy dress-up version.
I've brought the gin, now who's got a lemon? xxxx

I love your crazy dress-up version! And your post gave me a great laugh last night. Oh, gin--we need a lime too and some tonic water.

Love the reversible kimono. I have a flimsy red kimono I got in Stratford, Canada. I really should wear it more often.

  21. I own to Japanese happi. One of cotton cloth, the other of kimono grade silk with embroidered dragons. I wear them to festivals in the area I live in during the summer. I've been meaning to get a full length Yukata (summer, cotton, almost seersucker like kimono), but I just haven't gotten around to it. I'm very picky about the design...

  23. I'm afraid Miz Bagg has muscled her way into my life yet again! - she has insisted on attending on my behalf. You look fabulous in that kimono and how cool that it is reversible! Yes, it reminds me of a fighter's robe too. I did a painting with a boxing woman in a robe similar to this. PS. I love that levitating game!

  27. When it comes to unstylish pj's, think mine are right up there. My own post about sleep attire centered around men's T shirts bought in thrifts in large or extra-large for great comfort.
