On Monday, I wore this: the woven skirt, the reversible shell with the red side out, a huge straw bag, and a pair of authentic huraches. I found both the huraches and straw bag in thrift stores. The straw bag was an especially memorable find. When I found it at the Salvation Army last summer for $2.99, I had visions of carrying it to the Farmers Market and coming home loaded down with fresh produce. And, yet, we've not been to the market all summer!
On Tuesday, I wore this: the white skirt with the purple shell. I've added the fiber necklace my middle daughter gave me for Mother's Day and the antique funeral home fan I found in an antique store last January. It's been over 100 degrees most days for three weeks running now and I'm doing my best to keep my cool.
Today, I've been grading formal poems all day--an exercise I put my literature students through simply for them to have an appreciation of the complexities of rhyme and rhythm. It's funny though to watchi me do this as I'm often counting on my fingers and tapping my foot in an iambic rhythm. I'm sporting a belly-dancing veil as a superhero cape in this look, but below, you can see more sedate versions of the look.
One thing this challenge has led me to do is to clean out my closets and dresser drawers and to catch up on all laundry, ironing and steaming. For a moment, everything is neat and orderly. Here's what I discovered I have on hand...and the "muchness" of it, is more than a little embarassing.

- 5 pair of boots
- 4 pair of flip-flops

229 pieces—not counting thrift store contribution &
items designated for E-Bay or Etsy
Do you have any idea how many separate pieces you might own?
OMGoodness Terri!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing what you find in your closet? I'm not sure I want to know what's in mine....
You're looking wonderful as usual. Really loving the purple & black combo!
Jeannie--I have three closets and I realize now that I counted nothing in the "costume" closet upstairs so that would increase the numbers of items. I think of those more as collectors pieces though.
DeleteOMG, Terri, the beautiful photos, and the wardrobe item count :o
ReplyDeleteFirst, you look amazing. Purple is your color, and you are doing so much with your six-time capsule wardrobe, that...
Second, I feel a little embarrassed over my own wardrobe. I only have one small closet, and I've tried hard to stick to one or two items out for every item in, especially in the last six months, but this challenge reminds me that I have a wealth of clothes that either need to be enjoyed, or passed on to someone else to love.
Lynne--I had my colors "done" many years ago and was told I was a winter, so deep colors work best. Lilac is another story.
DeleteI also try to follow the one out, one in rule, but twice in the past 6 months I've purchased more hangers so I was fudging on my own rule.
I feel that you need to wear a super hero cape all the time. :-) I love that color purple on you and I am really in love with these shell tops. I kind of wish I had one (hot hot hot and those look so cool).
ReplyDeleteI'm too embarrassed about the amount I have in my wardrobe. It's more than you. (blush)
Meghan--I suspect that most women should have a superhero cape! And tight sparkly leotards and knee-high lace up boots! This shell is made of polyester. I've worn it 12 out of the 18 days thus far...and it may be my imagination, but I'm thinking it has a distinct "aroma."
DeleteYou must have a huge closet!
You are doing such a great job with your 6 Items challenge. I would be pulling my hair out by now...really, I don't think I could do it with a smile on my face.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how much I have in my closet..I'll have to count a few things and see if I am on par with you. 40 button downs? Wow!
Adrienne--I think I'm about to enter the pulling my hair out stage. What I have slated to wear involves layering, but I'm contending with day after day of 100+ temps! Not good.
DeleteYes, I'm very partial to crisp shirts & blouses.
I really like the Superhero Terri look! Half way is quite the super accomplishment, so you can lay claim to the title. I love that you own two Cocktail Dresses. And I didn't know that you sold stuff on Ebay. What's your Ebay seller name?
ReplyDeleteBeryl--I don't yet sell stuff on eBay, but for several months now I realize I've been thrifting with an eventual "store" of some sort in mind. I need to ask my readers advice about this...as I've never even purchased very much from eBay. I'm hoping Serene might share some of her wisdom with me.
DeleteLove that bag...I would have snapped it up as well! I cannot fathom counting all the pieces I have ...it might scare me like counting the scarves did. You look lovely in purple by the way and should wear it more often!!
ReplyDeletePam--I think I only have about 10 scarves, but that's 9 more than I had when I started blogging! It's amazing how clothing kinda gravitates to style bloggers, huh?
DeleteAgree that you make a fabulous super-hero in purple. It seems your challenge has gone very quickly so far, I wonder if it feels that way to you?
ReplyDeleteI have counted only my hanging clothes recently, and they total about 70 hangers. That doesn't count shoes, undies, nighties and casual tees. Or workout clothes, scarves, jewelry. I do have only one swimsuit, like you : > And I am down to just three purses and holding there!
Patti--The challenge has gone quickly and in many ways it has simplified my life during this super busy month. My purse thrifting is new...and I need to begin to exercise some restraint there.
DeleteMany thanks for your donation to the cause!
DeleteJust off the top of my head I know I have you beat in: sandals, purses, light jackets, night gowns, robes, cardigans, capris, denim, swimsuits.......not that I am bragging.... actually I have way too much, esp considering I do not have to dress up (only for church?) hardly ever. I am just a pack rat and like to have new stuff, whether it is just new to me or brand new.
ReplyDeleteLinda--In the summer time, I teach entirely online and could very easily get away with NEVER dressing up! In years past, I kept separate wardrobes for church and work. Thinking about retirement I realize that much of this stuff could go...
DeleteI think I like the thrill of the hunt and so long as its thrifted I'm not too troubled by it.
Terri.....there are so many little things to love in this post! I love the straw purse in the first picture.
ReplyDeleteOf course, as a belly dancer myself I adore your veil...beautiful color. It billows like its silk. I have several of them...in fact too may...but they are so lovely. I never thought of wearing mine outside of belly dance but I adore the way you have draped it as a wrap or shawl. Now I may have extend the use of mine! Your purple is much prettier than the colors I have!
My favorite picture is the one of you sitting in the swing..you look so happy and content...that's a woman's best beauty accessory!
Lisa--I'd best make clear that I was never a very accomplished belly dancer although I do have a basic understanding of the moves. I don't have the best body for it, you know? I have 3 of these silk veils and like you, I don't wear them near enough.
DeleteI really wish I had more time to spend lazing in the swing.
Terri....I don't really have the best body for belly dance either, but truthfully, most women who belly dance don't have a model figure. Belly dance is PERFECT for those us of with real bodies, honest figures that have been molded and shaped by our histories, not by extreme dieting, manic workouts and surgical adaptations. Historically, belly dance was not about having a perfect toned body and it wasn't really as provocative as it became once it was introduced in the United States at the worlds fair in Chicago (I think in 1918, not sure). Belly dance served several functions and one was to celebrate joyous occasions with families; it was family entertainment.
DeleteEven if you weren't as good as you would like to be...a higher level can be achieved with practice. Its such a wonderful form of dance for the "common" woman.
A couple of years ago, I went to see a belly dancer at a large public venue. She had Barbie doll proportions that weren't hers naturally and this really took the genuine meaning out of belly dance and make it an oversexualized show that had no authenticity.
Lisa--I was in class one evening when an Iraqi woman who usually taught the Arabic courses watched us for a couple of dances. She was covered from head to toe and then suddenly she sprang into motion. It was so delightful to watch--the real, authentic dance. If I understand correctly, in her culture the dance would have been shared among women only.
DeleteI love the superhero scarf!
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of clothes. A LOT. Enough so that I'll be doing my 30 For 30 for 12 with 360 non-duplicated items. At the end of that I'll be evaluating what didn't get worn and what I need to get rid of.
Sheila--thank you!
DeleteI know you have a lot of clothes, but you give me so many good ideas (and send me off in search of similar things!) And, you are an ethical shopper in my book.
I LOVE the scarf as a cape. Trying to decide if I can get away with that in this heat.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how many pieces I own. I'm afraid to count.
I'm doing the clean-out thing too. Put everything on ebay that I thought would sale, the rest is going in a garage sale and then whatever is left is going to donation.
Megan--the silk scarf is lovely when there's a bit of a breeze as it billows out behind when one walks. I was afraid to count too...
DeleteI need your tips on selling on eBay!
Terri - you gave me a startle! Your first item on the list was shoes (27) and I have been counting my collection lately (with a little guilt because its at least 45 pair and I am not ready to give any of them up). Then I saw that you counted your boots, flip-flops and sandals separately. whooooo.....I'm still okay, I'm still okay.
ReplyDeleteI find it interesting that you collect more types of shirts and more of each type whereas I collect dresses and skirts (like 40 of each at this point) and don't have that many choices for tops. That might explain why I have some problems coordinating with my skirts.
Fun post! Love the giant straw bag. I have a navy color one. People say things to me about it but I am never sure if they mean they like it, or it's out-there wacky. Guess it doesn't matter!
Kitty--My shoe collection has grown to be a bit of a housekeeping problem. I can think of four spots in the house where I have a pile of them!
DeleteWhen Rags began, I owned just one dress, but even then I had many button-front blouses. I just like the crispness of them. I wonder if any of your dresses could work as tops with the skirts.
DH commented on the bag when I bought it--it was obvious that we weren't sharing the same vision about it.
The outfit with the long blue scarf is simply beautiful! I'm very impressed with your challenge, and also with your list of clothes. I'm even tempted to do a tally myself... that is food for thought!
ReplyDeleteCarolyn--that silk scarf is one I stalked because I loved the colors of it. Much of my wardrobe will go away, when and if I retire soon.
DeleteWow - I'd need an offsider with a calculator, a clipboard and some smelling salts to do an inventory of my wardrobe! The red top is lovely. Sarah xxx
ReplyDeleteSarah--I think of you as a "collector" of vintage clothing and I would not be concerned. I found I had so much that I wasn't as creative as I probably would be with less. It's funny how that works.
DeleteI am about to do a wardrobe inventory too so I will let you know.
ReplyDeleteMy 31 for 31 challenge has been enlightening too.
Jane--I'll be very curious about your inventory. I've been thinking that conceivably one could have 6 pieces for each season and successfully dress throughout the year on a 30 piece wardrobe, but they would have to be very well chosen pieces.
DeleteThis looks like a really big list, but I bet if I got down to it I would have a longer list than what I'm thinking it would be at the moment I think it's funny you listed "mom jeans." I mean, we're moms and we wear jeans, right?? ;)
ReplyDeleteLove that sweet photo of you in the porch swing.....I so wish I had one of those.
Joni--I was tempted to part with the Mom jeans earlier this spring, but they are roomier than the others and during the winter months when I gain my winter weight, I need the spare room.
DeleteThere's a funny story about the porch swing. When we first hung it, my husband used S hooks that weren't strong enough. The first time we sat in it, it dumped us on our concrete porch. We looked at each other and burst out laughing.
Haha I love your superhero cape! I LOVE your straw basket! What a beauty.
ReplyDeleteAnd you've done a taxonomy of your wardrobe ;)
You should see my list, it fills a tome...
Veshoevius--Yes, it's a taxonomy. Of course! Perhaps all women should begin to walk down the street with our silk veils trailing behind.
DeleteLove every detail in this outfit!
ReplyDeleteFashion-hot--Welcome to Rags! and thank you.
DeleteI love that second picture of you, Terri! you look so chilled and relaxed and the purple really suits you.
ReplyDeleteDoing an inventory of my wardrobe? Sounds too much like hard work! I'd loose count once I unearthed a long-forgotten frock and choose to prance around in it instead of doing my homework! x
Vix--Yes, with so few garments to work with, it occurred to me that I should get creative about my locales! And, yes, the inventory took me two days...as I kept thinking of places I'd squirreled clothing away and getting similarly side-tracked.
DeleteThe purple shawl makes you look like a superheroine.
ReplyDeleteTHE AMAZING SUPERTERRI, coming to a theatre near you!
Kionon--Well, I'm already a fighter pilot in one of John Birmingham's "After America" novels! So there.
DeleteYou really suit rich colours, Terri, the red and purple look great on you. And that enormous straw bag is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI would be far too scared to do an inventory. My OH said to me the other day, "I'm not being funny, but do you have a dress for every day of the year?" I don't - but I'm working on it! I am doing a cull of the stuff I haven't worn for over a year, mostly the casual (dull) stuff. Ebay, pass on to friends, charity shops - it will all find a home, and I will be left with what I REALLY love. xxxx
Curtise--I'm a novice at eBay, both as a buyer and seller, but I do have quite a pile of things that I do believe have some value. I still need to investigate shipping costs as I live a bit off the beaten track.
DeleteThere's nothing wrong with 365 dresses.
Last year, my closet was overflowing with thrift store finds that I had NOTHING to wear! Most of my closet was potential but not love. You would be surprised at the sparsity of my closet now. Between moving and pilfering from my wardrobe for things to start my online store, I kind of have it pretty fine tuned. If I don't LOVE it, it doesn't stay. Sometimes I buy things to sell that I decide to keep for myself.... But nine times out of ten, it ends up going in the shop because the love was in the potential and not the item.... A wear or two usually helps me to see this. Fun post and it kind of makes me want to count mine!!
ReplyDeleteSerene--It wasn't until about March this year that I began to consider the possibility that the "muchness" was beginning to interfere with my creativity. I was substituting "new to me" for actually thinking very hard about what to wear with what I already had. I've also begun to pass up things I love, but know I will never wear.
DeleteI really need to pick your brain about eBay. I miss your blog postings.
You make the capsule wardrobe challenge look easy!
ReplyDeleteMater--It's only been easy because I'm teaching entirely online this summer. if I had to go to campus, for face to face classes, like participants with full time jobs, i think the challenge would be much more difficult.
DeleteI love that you inventoried your wardrobe. I've done that once before and was shocked. I can't remember if I blogged it or not (here's one from '09). The main goal at that time was to determine how much of it was thrifted vs. new (was 82% then, surely it is higher now). Have been meaning to do it again, now that I'm having to sort & pack anyway. I seem to remember the largest category I had back then was "lounge type wear" but now I'm guessing my dress collection has eclipsed my keepsake t-shirt collection. It looks like my totals at that time, of my "currently wearing" wardrobe, were 131 "hung" items, 12 pair of shoes and unknown # of "folded" stuff in the dresser. I'm interested now to see how much excess I've got going on since then! I've already taken two bags back to thrifts...
ReplyDeleteSandra--I've just visited that old post you linked to and I like your thought process. I would guess that 98% of my wardrobe at this point is thrifted, though it has taken 20+ years to get that far. I've had very little lounge wear...though I like to wear the FL slips for that and DH, prior to having our grandson living with us, liked that too. I think it's possible to have a 100% thrifted wardrobe...and feel it's excessive too.
DeleteThe straw bag, the swirling cape, you do the challenge so well. I thought I had lots of clothes but I don't think I would beat your numbers. I know I don't own that many shoes. You must have a BIG closet :-)
ReplyDeleteDarla
Darla--I have three closets! I have taken over the one in our bedroom. We once had two closets in our bedroom, but DH turned my old closet into a small sauna. I've taken over the guest room closet and the one in my study is about half full of dance wear, which I did not include in this count.
DeleteLoving all theses cool outfits. You are very brave for counting all your clothes. I probably have twice that and still want more!
ReplyDeleteXXOO
Krista
Krista--It's funny now that my wardrobe is so, uh, "complete" that when I go thrifting (a habit that will not break), I'm shopping for things I know Sarah would like or Krista. Don't be surprised if a bright dress arrives on your doorstep one day.
DeleteLove all the rich colours and drama in today's post! Also, thanks for doing this challenge for such a great cause. I'm scrolling up to donate asap.
ReplyDeleteA-Dubs--ARe you my anonymous donor? If so, my hearty thanks! I had been planning to make the donation myself and every little bit helps.
DeleteI'd guess probably about the same. I have way more dresses (probably 30+ I did count them at one point for a post, I must check), jackets/coats and bags, but I have fewer shoes (about ten pairs including boots, I've been throwing them out or donating them as they get worn out, so I know there's not much left) and trousers. I don't feel bad about the numbers though. I've been living with a pared down wardrobe for the last five months but it's not for me. Some of those dresses only get worn once or twice a year, but I'm still glad they're mine.
ReplyDeleteFranca--I have followed you long enough to know that the shoes you own are of a far higher quality than anything I've thrifted. Shoes and underwear would be the wardrobe areas where I'm still buying some items new. I have a renewed appreciation for dresses since I've been blogging, but skirts and the blouses seem most appropriate for my work setting.
DeleteI am afraid to count. I'm culling, though!
ReplyDeleteTerri, that purple is so lovely on you. I mean, really, truly a gorgeous colour for you. Awesome.
Ana--thank you. I was on Twitter last night and saw a link to you on a Tumblr! Congrats on that.
Deletereally do not know how many pieces I call my own , especially as they are spread over three floors, the winter stuff is in the guest room, the clothes which do not fit presently are stored in a carton in the basement and the current summer wear in a wardrobe in the bedroom, I think I should do an inventory. I find it's quite a charming picture of you on the swing, the purple shell and the white skirt are marvelous you look so wonderfully relaxed. I really like your style , and you look so wonderfully relaxed. actually i like your style very much!
ReplyDeleteSabine--My pieces are spread over two floors and in three closets (four if you count the coat closet). I keep winter and summer in separate closets. I suspect that the porch swing relaxation is a bit of an illusion, although a porch swing is very, very relaxing.
DeleteNo idea - but substantially less than I used to own (though hubby may disagree)! I love the purple, and I LOVE the larger photos of you!
ReplyDeleteGrunge-Queen--Well, having to move would likely whittle down anyone's wardrobe. And thank you!
DeleteThe purple veil is beautiful and seems versatile. I'm chuckling at the thought of you counting out the iambic rhythm of your students'poems.
ReplyDeleteSusan--I'm sure my students would be appalled if they could see me grading their work! I took an entire course in prosody in graduate school and learned all this stuff that is nearly forgotten these days. But, my students are often VERY PROUD of their sonnets, and villanelles, and sestinas.
DeleteI love the drama and playfulness of the belly dance scarf! And the large straw bag is quite the find. I can relate to the hot weather and the lack of rain. Hope it changes soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm organizing, but not counting. That would be scary. But I'm impressed that you have it down in numbers.
Judith--I'm starting to wonder if we need to organize a rain dance round-up post. Perhaps we could have our friends in the UK send rain, as they seem to have an abundance of it these days.
DeleteFound myself thinking of your pink room today as we considered new colors for my mother's study.
oh man I wouldn't even want to count- I keep things forever, since high school even. yikes!
ReplyDeleteI kept a lot of things when I was younger, but I have moved around so much that I've lost track of things I had in my 20s. I sometimes even wonder where it might be now.
Deletelove that bag! you look great :)
ReplyDeleteFashion Territory--Welcome to Rags and thank you.
Deletewhat, thats all? haha.
ReplyDeleteI mean, when you count it all out and give it a number, I guess it sounds like a lot, but really, it's not.
Love your red dress!
Chic on the Cheap
Lyddie--yeah, that's all. If I counted the stuff I designated to take to the thrifts and to resell, it would have been worse.
DeleteTerri: You have LOT of footwear and buttonable tops! I love your big straw bag - it reminds me of one I (sadly) donated away years ago and to this day still look for.
ReplyDeleteNarda--I was especially surprised by the high number of button front shirts, especially since I'm not a big fan of ironing.
DeleteYou’re so naturally beautiful, I wish more models were like you!
ReplyDeleteVogue World--Welcome to Rags! And thank you for your kind comment.
DeleteYou're doing brilliantly with the Six Items Challenge!
ReplyDeleteI did do a wardrobe inventory once - I didn't have much, and what I had wasn't right .... but clothes aren't a thing I'm good at! x
Lemons--thank you. I may be retiring soon and this wardrobe then could be significantly reduced.
DeleteLove the looks. As for the closet inventory--yowsa! Have you ever read An Old-Fashioned Girl by Louisa May Alcott? This reminded me of the closet scene when Fan, Maude, and Polly pull every piece of clothing out of Fan's closet when she says "here it is practically May and I have nothing to wear."
ReplyDeleteApril--It is curious to discover that the more one has, the fewer creative ideas there are to style the many things.
Deletei love the "2 pairs of mom jeans"! i don't know how many items i own, and i think i would be a little mortified to actually count. i love your straw bag...maybe you will be motivated to get to the farmer's market now! and your super hero scarf is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteTwo Birds--the Mom jeans are a winter necessity, when I'm packing around my extra 5 pounds.
DeleteI see here a lot of expression and character, I like!
ReplyDeleteClara--thank you.
DeleteYou are challenging me to do a closet inventory!!
ReplyDeleteI definitely need to do one for fall/winter
Tamara--this inventory includes all seasons. My summer wardrobe is much smaller than my winter.
DeleteTerri, you look terrific. What a wonderful tan you have. I like all your outfits.
ReplyDeleteI counted my items and ended up with 30. Honestly. I did not count my lingerie along, but I don´t have a lot of them either.
I guess I am a minimalist.
I don´t keep anything, I don´t wear. And just to be clear, this includes the 4 seasons wardrobe.
Maybe I have to get something for the winter, but definitely not much.
Mette--I am impressed that you have 30 items. And actually, I am coming to believe that it what I should aspire to. You are a minimalist and I admire you for it. Since doing this challenge, I have been able to imagine a minimalist wardrobe for the first time.
DeleteI must actually clear out my closet and take stock of what I have!! Great post:) Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDelete~Anne
Anne--Welcome to Rags! We will be going to visit a sick friend this weekend and it may be our last. Mixed feelings about this...
DeleteI had to make an inventory of all of my clothes for the moving company, and my list looks a lot like yours - I have more coats and dresses, but fewer button-up blouses and jeans. I didn't dare count the total number of pieces, but looking at your numbers per category, mine is probably in the lower 200s as well. And that's after a lot of culling. I wouldn't be surprised if I was in the 300s a few months ago!
ReplyDeleteThe Waves--I think I was embarassed by how much I kept even after culling for eBay and the thrifts. I probably culled out 100 pieces!
Deletehola, acabo de encontrar tu blog y me ha encantado, pasate por el mio y dime si te gusta, si es asi sigamonos mutuamente, que teparece la idea???
ReplyDeletebesos
www.petitgraphie.blogspot.com
Diana--Welcome to Rags! Wish my Spanish was more fluent.
DeleteLOVE that purple on you...very nice. Kudos for taking inventory so thoroughly. I have never counted everything as you have but I do try to keep my actual wardrobe items (dresses, tops, pants, skirts, sweaters, etc) around 40 or less. I would really like that number to be under 30. I got my fall/winter stuff down to 27 at one point but it may have crept back up a little...grrr.
ReplyDeleteBliss--thank you! I wonder if you know Mette at the blog Metscan. She works with a very minimal wardrobe and during this challenge I have begun to see the genius of it...and I've begun thrifting for a different reason altogether. There is NOTHING I need.
DeleteI don't have a clue what my count is. I have a stash of thrifted things specifically for upcycling/refashioning. I know I'm ready to streamline, but I think it's going to have to be like Pao's at Project Minima. Just use what I have to create new stuff!!
ReplyDeleteI like your hot weather looks, BTW. Very classy and cool.
Jean--Somehow in my mind, items waiting to be upcycled would not count! I have one or two of those...which I didn't count. I quite like what Pao is doing.
DeleteTerri, I love that straw bag, which is amazing and one of the most unusual bags I've seen. Just gorgeous, and what a bargain! I also love the huge lavender scarf. Re poetry, it's so hard to write. I tried my hand at it in my early 20s and since then have had a whole new appreciation for it because it is terribly difficult to write.I tried it, then went straight back to fiction. As for my address, yes, the same as last year, I'm still in Brooklyn! XO, Jill
ReplyDeleteJill--Wait, you're a fiction writer? I did not know this and I'm very, very curious. I'll try to get the package mailed on Monday...before the onslaught of finals begins.
DeleteHey Terri - or perhaps I should say 'bon jour' given I'm writing from France. Haven't had much internet contact so will have to catch up with all your adventures when we get home in a week or so; also to reply to all your lovely comments. I love the reversible shell - a brilliant piece when trying to limit your wardrobe. I posted sometime back about my wardrobe, but I didn't count all my nightgowns and such. I'm sure you have nothing to be embarrassed about - I had loads more if I recall. I am curious as to why limiting your wardrobe led you to catch up with ironing and wash. I'd have guessed it would be an excuse to let most of it go? I look forward to catching up and also to sharing France with you!
ReplyDeleteShelley--Somehow I had a suspicion that you "were mad" at me again. ;) I'm not embarassed exactly, but the wardrobe has definitely swelled since I've begun blogging, although I think I have a possible solution to that problem. I hope to ask my readers' advice about that this coming week. Gah, I can't wait to see YOUR take on France.
DeleteI have lots of clothes- culled from and for different parts of my life. Back in the day, when my job let me dress up- I could go 3 months without re-wearing a single garment, and then some. I presently have loads of clothing but would like to rotate- keep my faves but store some for a season. My upcoming move (I'm packing today) rubs my nose in the ridiculous uh, i mean copious amount of garments, scarves, shoes and accessories I own. First world problems.
ReplyDeletePS: I love the color purple on you!
Bella--In real life, I need only "dress up" three days a week! So the existing wardrobe is MORE than enough. But, I've begun collecting clothes I realize...and it's a hobby I like, but I do need to limit the volume somehow. And, you're moving again. Somewhere within Seattle, I hope.
Deletehi terri. first of all, thank you for following me on twitter. i follow you and your blog now too..and i love your blog name, play on words :) and WOW..ive never done a wardrobe inventory..i know i have alot of shirts..hmmm..something to think about doing one day lol.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how much I own although I have a clear idea of what I own. For the moment I only took with me 25 pieces that I constantly remix. I loooove the straw hat bag.
ReplyDelete
