Last April, on the BBC I heard a "60 Second Idea that would Change the World" (a regular feature on the BBC program I listen to). I do not recall the speaker's name, but her idea was that wearing a full body leotard once a month as one lived their lives would give a person pause about their identity. To a certain extent, the suit would eliminate so many identifying characteristics--skin color, ethnicity, age, perhaps gender.
Imagine my delight when I came across an XL morph suit in a thrift store. Initially, I was going to model the suit myself...but as time passed, the idea morphed. Below, you'll see 8 different bodies. Four of the bodies are male and four of the bodies are female. One of them is me.
I owe a huge thank you to those who played along with this crazy idea. All of us agreed that the suit was not particularly comfortable and our ability to see was somewhat hampered. Even WITH the suit, it seems to me that our bodies reveal a lot about our identity.
And if you want to know, which one is me, check out Adrienne or Jill's series "How I Wear My~Neon" this week.
